Terms of Use

The short version, then the long one

Driven is free to use during the beta. The software stays ours, what you save stays yours, and it is provided as it is, without a warranty. Everything below says the same thing more carefully.

Last updated 12 August 2026.

Who you are agreeing with

Driven is an independent software project built and operated by a sole developer based in Morocco. There is no company behind it, and saying so is more useful to you than implying otherwise. "We" and "us" below mean that one person. You can reach them at hello@drivenmemory.com.

These terms cover Driven Clipboard for Windows, Driven SmartClip for Android, and this website. Using any of them means accepting them.

What you may do with it

You may install and use Driven on as many machines as you personally use, at home or at work, including commercially. No licence key, no seat count, no registration. That permission is personal to you and is not transferable.

The software itself remains ours. It is proprietary and all rights are reserved. Please do not redistribute it, resell it, rebrand it, or publish a modified build. You may not reverse engineer or decompile it, except to the extent the law where you live gives you that right regardless of what this page says, which in some countries it does.

What it costs

Driven Clipboard is free during the beta. There is no paid tier, no trial timer and nothing for sale inside it today. If a paid tier is ever introduced, it will be announced first, and an existing free installation will not silently convert into a paid one or stop working because you did not pay.

Your data is not part of this deal

Everything Driven saves stays in local storage on your own device. We do not receive it, cannot read it, and claim no rights over it. What the software does connect to, and why, is set out in full on the privacy page, including the update check and the download counter. Nothing you copy is involved in either.

The installer is not code-signed

Windows SmartScreen will warn you when you run it, because a code-signing certificate has not been bought yet. So that you are not asked to trust that on faith, the SHA-256 of every published build and a link to its antivirus scan are on the download page. Verify the file before running it. Only ever install a build obtained from drivenmemory.com; we cannot vouch for a copy from anywhere else.

It is beta software, provided as it is

Driven is supplied without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. It is a beta. It may contain defects, it may lose data, and no promise is made that it will be available, supported or maintained.

Treat Driven as a convenience, not as the only copy of anything. Do not rely on it as your sole store of information you cannot afford to lose.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits, business interruption, or any indirect or consequential loss arising out of your use of Driven. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local consumer law gives you. This page does not take those away.

Fair use of the software and the site

Do not use Driven to break the law, and do not attack the site or the download hosts: no automated hammering of the download endpoint, no attempt to interfere with other people's use of the service. Security researchers are welcome, and the rules for that are on the security page rather than here.

Services we rely on

This site and the installer downloads are served by Cloudflare. Builds are produced and stored using GitHub. Each published build is submitted to VirusTotal so its scan can be linked publicly. The Android app is distributed through Google Play, under Google's terms. Those companies have their own terms and privacy policies, which govern their part.

Ending it

You can stop at any time by uninstalling, and because there is no account there is nothing to close and nobody to email. We may stop distributing or supporting Driven, in which case a copy you have already installed keeps working; it simply stops receiving updates.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Morocco, where the project is based, without affecting any mandatory protection you have as a consumer in the country where you live.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them and the substance of the change will be stated plainly rather than buried. Continuing to use Driven after that means the new version applies.
